This model aligns naturally with self-paced learning and our vision of allowing students to start any month while maintaining high academic standards.

Note on Accreditation: Offering bachelor's degrees in 2 years, master's in 1 year, and doctorates in 1 year is possible as an accelerated institutional model. To ensure future partnerships, recognition, and accreditation, MJN University maintains rigorous learning outcomes, total instructional time, credit hours, faculty oversight, and assessment standards. Quality assurance bodies focus on demonstrated competencies and academic rigor rather than calendar time alone.

IV

Academic Policies

Academic Calendar

MJN University operates on 4 academic terms per year β€” Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each term lasts approximately 12 weeks, followed by a short break before the next term begins. Students may enroll at any time thanks to our rolling admissions model.

Credit Hour System

MJN University uses a credit hour system aligned with international standards. One credit hour equals approximately 15 hours of instruction. Most courses are 3 credit hours. Certificates require 12–15 credits, advanced certificates 24–30, diplomas 30–45, bachelor's degrees 60–72, master's degrees 30–36, and doctoral degrees 36–48 credits.

Course Numbering

Courses are numbered using a four-digit system: the first digit indicates the level (1xxx = first-year, 2xxx = sophomore, 3xxx = junior, 4xxx = senior, 5xxx = master's, 6xxx+ = doctoral). The second digit indicates the school. Example: LEAD 101 = Leadership, first-year, course 01.

Grading Scale

A (90–100, 4.0, Excellent) Β· B+ (87–89, 3.5, Very Good) Β· B (80–86, 3.0, Good) Β· C+ (77–79, 2.5, Above Average) Β· C (70–76, 2.0, Satisfactory) Β· D (60–69, 1.0, Below Standard) Β· F (Below 60, 0.0, Failing). A minimum grade of C is required to pass a course.

GPA Requirements

Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (bachelor's), 3.0 (master's), and 3.3 (doctoral) to remain in good academic standing. Below these thresholds, students are placed on academic probation and must improve within one semester.

Attendance Policy

Students are expected to engage with all course materials. For online courses, 'attendance' is measured by lesson completion, discussion participation, and assignment submission. Students who do not engage for two consecutive weeks may be withdrawn from the course.

Academic Integrity

MJN University upholds the highest standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism, cheating, and fabrication are strictly prohibited. Violations may result in course failure, suspension, or dismissal. All students must complete an academic integrity orientation before enrollment.

Code of Conduct

Students are expected to conduct themselves with honesty, respect, and responsibility. The Student Code of Conduct governs academic behavior, community engagement, and interpersonal interactions. Violations are addressed through a fair and transparent disciplinary process.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must complete all required courses, maintain the minimum GPA, fulfill community service hours (40 hours for degree programs), and settle all financial obligations. Degree candidates must also complete a capstone project or thesis.

Honors

Graduating students are recognized for academic excellence: Cum Laude (GPA 3.5–3.69), Magna Cum Laude (GPA 3.7–3.89), and Summa Cum Laude (GPA 3.9–4.0). Honors are noted on the diploma and transcript.

Academic Appeals

Students may appeal grades, academic standing decisions, or disciplinary actions. Appeals must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the decision. The appeals process follows three levels: instructor, department chair, and Academic Appeals Committee.

Student Rights

Students have the right to academic freedom, fair evaluation, privacy of records, freedom from discrimination, access to university services, and representation in university governance. These rights are detailed in the Student Handbook.
